Nuclear Data
ANSWERS software products for Reactor Physics, Shielding, Criticality and Nuclear Well Logging rely upon high quality modern nuclear data. To service this and additional third party requirements, we maintain a key team for processing nuclear data.
We use a wide range of evaluated nuclear data sources to enable the most appropriate data to be processed using codes such as NJOY. These include general purpose evaluations including JEFF-3 and 4, ENDF/B-VII and VIII, TENDL and CENDL, specialist evaluations such as IRDF(F) and ICRP, and legacy evaluations include JEF-2.2, EADL, EEDL, ENDL-84, UKNDL, UKPADD and UKHEDD.

The nuclear data team generate all the application data libraries for the ANSWERS software packages including FISPIN, MCBEND, MONK and WIMS. Efficient methodologies have been designed for processing and allow the quick addition of nuclides in response to customers’ needs.
The latest reactor physics libraries for the WIMS code contains neutron reaction data for about 300 nuclides in 172 energy groups. For the Monte Carlo codes MONK and MCBEND,
The BINGO continuous energy libraries contain neutron reaction data consistent with the 300 nuclides of the WIMS library. Additionally, gamma production and gamma transport libraries are available to support coupled neutron-gamma calculations in MCBEND.

We also participate in international nuclear data projects, in particular the Joint Evaluated Fission and Fusion (JEFF) project. Our activities include data evaluation, processing and benchmarking with our experiences fed back to the JEFF project community.
